Kodak Floating-Cast Impressions

Here are some impressions from the Kodak Floating-Cast Workshop held on 21. September 2009 in Hamburg on the Floating Homes.

The video was made out of a collection of video clips filmed by the participants with the new Kodak Zi 8 HD pocket video camera.

Der floatingcast – nach der niche09 ein weiteres Highlight im diesjährigen Event-Line-Up für Videopodcaster. Heading for Hamburg Harbour!

Noch knapp 25 Stunden bis zum Floating Cast in Hamburg. Wir haben gerade schon unsere Tickets aus dem stets freundlichen (aber manchmal unpässlichen) Fahrkartenautomaten der Deutschen Bahn abgeholt und kümmern uns nun um die letzten Vorbereitungen für unseren Ausflug nach Hamburg. Kamera-Akkus werden geladen, Speicherkarten formartiert, Kabel, Mikrofone zusammengepackt und was man halt sonst noch an Gadgets braucht. Die Reiselektüre liegt auch schon bereit.

Morgen früh geht es dann für uns nach Hamburg zum Floating Cast von Kodak, wo der @ifranz die Zi8 interessierten Videopodcastern und angehenden Videopodcastern vorstellen wird und selbige dann anschließend auch ausgiebig ausprobieren können. Aber als aufmerksame ifranznation-Zuschauer wißt ihr das ja alles längst…

Wir freuen uns auf jeden Fall fast wie kleine Kinder auf Weihnachten auf dieses Event, da es neben der Arbeit sicherlich auch wieder ausgiebig Gelegenheit geben wird dort alte und sicherlich auch neue Kontakte zu pflegen und sich mit anderen Videopodcastern und Bloggern auszutauschen. Dazu wird es auf jeden Fall auch reichlich Gelegenheit geben.

Nächste Woche wird es dann hier also etwas ruhiger, da der @ifranz gleich danach weiter durch Deutschland touren wird und meinereiner wieder seinem normalen Tagesgeschäft nachgehen muß. Man muß sich ja seine neuen Gadgets erstmal verdienen.

Also nicht wundern – we’ll be back soon. Zumal es hier dann sicherlich auch eine Nachbereitung des Floating Casts geben wird.

Es ist für mich das beste Video seit langer Zeit auf Vimeo (seit dem Rush Hour London Video). Unglaublich, unbeschreiblich, einfach faszinierend!

Schaut es Euch in der HD-Variante ab und wartet bis die “Flughafen-Aufnahmen” kommen. So etwas habe ich noch nie gesehen!

We tested a lot of external microphones: AKG C1000S (sorry, with cable problems), SHURE SM58, SHURE PG48, Beyerdynamic MCE72 and of course the internal mic.

We went to Disneyland to run the Disneyland Half Marathon on September 6th, and we stayed for a couple days to enjoy Disneyland and California Adventure.

I had some fun with this edit. Disneyland is so detailed and themed, so I ended up with a lot of great footage. But I decided to pick a short song and then try and get as much as I could in a short time frame with a lot of quick cuts to the music.
